Rule of thumb: The quality of the food is inversely proportional to the size of the pepper mill.

Are they compensating for something?

Unless they use up the pepper everyday, how old is the pepper in that oversized mill?

Not really. They’re just compensating.

I prefer pepper that grows above ground.
