Does Hobbes know the proper concussion protocol?

And, curiously, there are still fewer concussions in Soccer than in American Football.

Yeah, you can use anything but your hands, and let’s not forget common sense… but that in Calvin?

In Rugby you can touch the ball with your hands, no namby – pamby body armor either.

Once I’ve read a pamflet about how nice that Americans call their game football, and call European football soccer, while in their game in 99 % of the time they don’t touch the ball with their foot. Ironic :-)

In my town’s soccer league they ban head-butting from games until a certain age. Maybe to avoid this?

Tried a proper “header” once – that hurts, too.

I never played much soccer and only blocked with my face once, but it wasn’t that big a deal – disorienting for several seconds, not much fun, but not nearly as bad as scraping all the skin off my back in a bicycle accident.

I’m like Calvin, never had any real skill in sports – I think I tried them all.

I was much better as a reader – still am. ;)

American football is no longer a game; it is strictly high stakes business, nothing more, nothing less…

I think football or “soccer” is the best sport out of the lot of them.
