I was getting a ride on the first day of my first summer job, pumping gas. I saw some kids riding bikes; going down to the lake with fishing poles, like Ihad did last summer. I suddenly realized that I was totally hosed for the next 45 summers…

Try being unemployed for five years. Plenty of free time, but somehow it’s hard to enjoy it.

that’s why I took up writing and painting

On the first day of my summer vacation…I woke up………..Then I went downtown………..To – look – for – a – job.Then I hung out in front of the drugstore.
