He’s played the same song, with the same flat note, FOURTEEN freaking times!!! I know he’s doing it just to bug me!

I banished my daughter to her room when she first started to learn the violin. A fiddle in the hands of a child is a deadly weapon.

Listening to a beginner learn the violin is like listening to someone strangle a cat.

When buying instruments, I always recommend getting or renting the best you can afford. A lousy instrument in a child’s hands will always sound bad. Even a professional with a poor instrument can only sound mediocre.

Killing me softly with his song

When my grandson was about 6 years old, I got him a drum set and made him promise to practise outside Mommy and Daddy’s bedroom door on Sunday mornings.

Later, when he was in Junior High, I encouraged his practicing the trumpet…..

…I had to LOL, I’ve been taking violin lessons for 4 1/2 years, and boy does it sound bad (though better than it did at the beginning)…fortunately, I live alone :)…

Now you know why he wanted that violin in the first place.
