It’s been a while since I’ve heard it, but I’ve heard all that before.

Don’t forget “Turn up the radio so you don’t have to listen to the name calling in the backseat.”

That last line is totally me. My youngest has a tiny bladder and never seems to need to go at home, only when we go to the stores with the grossest bathrooms. Drives me nuts.

One of those mysteries of anatomical science: a bladder in motion is always fuller than a bladder at rest.

Before we leave we always tell our kids go to BR and try. Cause we’ve been there mostly cause on our way home our son would have to go we have to pull far off and let him discretly go.

Touching….not touching….not touchING. How much longer? Is it far away or far far away?

My boys knew every bathroom in town. Knowing I wouldn’t take a chance on it, they used “I need to go” anytime they were bored. On trips, having to stop to use the john, they knew the store would have candy/drinks also. This was in the days before highway rest stops.

But the passengers need their instructions:

    Ask, “Are we there yet?”

    Say, “I have to go!”

    Say, “Quit touching me!”

Ask, “When are we gonna get there?”

Start a funny faces contest–until the driver wins it. (Calvin’s Dad once won a contest this way.)
