Très bien, Michael, you can save that green for Christmas and be the Grinch!

OK Mike, tell the kids at school you’re really a martian and your human disguise just wore off.

In high school, one of my Irish classmates decided to color his hair green for St. Patrick’s day.Yep. It was green on that day, and the day after, and the day…

When Michael’s classmates at school tease him about his new coloring tomorrow he’ll know full well what Kermit meant when he sang “It’s not easy bein’ green.” ;-D

Woman at work dyed hair black and then found out the dye was not washable as she thought.

In high school, a friend of mine had to go straight from drama class to math. The class was doing makeup, and he had a complete clown face on- but no time to remove it. He decided that showing up for math as a finished clown was better than showing up with a mess wiped all over his face.

Lynn’s Notes:When my son, Aaron, was about two and a half years old, I enticed him into the bath, telling him he could have any colour water he wanted. I put a box of food colouring on the edge of the tub and he chose blue. I let him put a few drops into the water, and just as his blue bath was ready, the phone rang. The kitchen phone was right around the corner. I briefly talked to a friend as I listened to Aaron playing in the bath. I couldn’t, however, see what he was doing.

I soon returned to the bathroom. had left the box of dye where he could reach it, and he had emptied every bottle into the tub. My son was sitting in a dark, murky swamp happy as a clam. I lifted him out of the water, and was surprised to see that his small behind had been dyed a dark, greenish-blue like an Easter egg. I thought it was funny, but Aaron was terrified. “I’ve got a green BUM!” He wailed. “I got a green bum!!!!” The colour lasted for over a week. He went to daycare afraid to ask for help in the bathroom in case someone saw. Fortunately, the staff had been forewarned and had the courtesy not to laugh out loud! This is a story I haven’t let him forget.

We had an Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade when I lived in Sedona, Arizona. One of my crazy neighbors decided he was going to be a jolly, green, giant leprechaun and march in the parade.

    .

Obviously, he didn’t realize that the green food dye wouldn’t come off of his skin or out of his white hair easily. He was really funny when he showed up at the next morning’s Kiwanis Club breakfast meeting !

But by the end of the week, he seemed to have lost his sense of humor but still had tinges of green hair and skin.

I remember sailing once with my nephew. He turned a lovely shade of green. It wore off, though.

Science Fiction Convention Costuming lore (before it became “cosplay” still tells the story of the Green Martian, who dyed a good deal of his skin with green food coloring to create the effect for the Masquerade. He was a corporate lawyer…

Hopefully it won’t take three weeks to wear off like in “Jonny Quest, Pursut of the Po-Ho”

In the Jonny Quest episode “Pursuit of the Poho” Race Bannon becomes a “water god” but using purple berries to color his skin. Later he finds it must wear off and it will take three weeks.
