Arlo: Research indicates dogs may understand more words than we thought.
Arlo: They learned this by reading canine brain waves.
Arlo: They had to train dogs to sit still for a brain scan!
Arlo: I guess we'll never know about cats.
Amy Cat has a large vocabulary. Much of the time, she’s my shadow and I talk to her about what’s going on. If it’s something that affects her, she reacts appropriately.
They all understand us much more than we give them credit for….They understand words and phrases, that are important to them, and our actions speak louder than words….They know us very well….Much more than we know them…
We moved frequently in Tiger Cat’s 16-year reign. Even if I began rearranging furniture, his ears would go back and he’d slink to another room unless I said, “No, we’re not moving!” Bahsha Cat was terrified of the vacuum. I learned to warn her by saying, “Bahsha, bu-z-z-z:” and she dove under the big bed and stayed there until I had finished.
Rabbits learn a very large number of human words. They also do agility training like dogs, and jumping courses like horses. They love it. We have had to spell words like “treat”, then after awhile, they learned that…and have had to figure something else out. They are MUCH smarter than the vast majority of people give them credit for. And they are sweet and gentle. If they are curious about something they shouldn’t be, we just say, “What do you think you are doing?” and they stop. A huge plus, they are quiet, potty trained, and loving.
I had a cat that did not run away from the vacuum, but she would give it the most evil stare you can imagine…Even spooked me! I tried to stay on her good side…….Cat’s can be spookier than dogs….

don´t need to train a cat to lie still – does that about 18 hours a day.

And that’s just the way they want it.

It’s been proven that cats can learn commands like dogs. The difference is that a cat does what it wants.

Apparently you can’t give a cat a CAT scan. At least not while it is still conscious.

Just put a small cardboard box in there and the cat will enter all on its own.

Cats understand many human words; they just don’t care about them. Remember, dogs have masters, cats have staff…

Cats can be trained. Have seen an act in Vegas where house cats are doing the same tricks that a Circus has Lions doing

I tell my cats “hidey hole” and they go. They know I’m going to vacuum.

Cats can be trained, I have taught mine to wake me up any time of night if she is hungry. She learned it very quickly too.

A dog thinks, “My human feeds and shelters me, he must be a god.” A cat thinks, “My human feeds and shelters me, I must be a god.”
