Dude does that Superman-taking-off-his-suit pose when he scampers into the end zone, cause and effect?

When running, you are a runner, particularly if you can’t be expected to slide. He should be treated just like the runningback when acting as a runningback. (Which certainly includes the concussion protocol, but not the extra caution that otherwise surrounds a quarterback.)

@Polsixe @archipelago So, by your logic it’s okay to go after Cams head just because he celebrates or is considered a “running back” when he leaves the pocket. You target the head, it’s an automatic ejection and a minimum 1 game suspension. Don’t care who the player is. Obviously fines don’t get through to players. Suspensions might, but of course this is the NFL where they “care” about the health and safety" of their players. By the way, enjoy the Thursday night game. Another money grab by the league all while mouthing how much they care.

I am not a Cam Newton fan by any means, but I do think that the referees are far more lax in calling the cheap shots ( and there are lots of them ) against him than other QBs. There seems to be a double standard when it comes to calling penalties on certain Quarterbacks.Maybe ejections and suspensions will help curb the cheap shots and headhunters but only if the refs apply the rules fairly and consistently across the board.

It’s amazing how many players complained about the new rules. Yet we see far fewer players leading with their helmet now. We see almost no players launching themselves. Virtually no forearm shivers either.

    Imagine that.
