An island would be a nice change compared to hearing and seeing election foolishness every minute.Down side is, I’d have to come back to whatever chaos develops from the election.
And thus Wiley demonstrates why we have corrupt politicians – an apathetic and uninvolved electorate that expects human perfection in their leaders and cries when they cannot find it.
I think that is due to the lead being made to look “glamorous” to the point that the humanity is lost. With those made to look “normal” to avoid competing, humanity is more attractive.
I wish I could say I love all the false equivalency. However, I don’t. I’m not happy either, but I would rather not see full-on evil win. One candidate has a long record of service, one has no interest in serving anyone beyond himself. Anyone else, family, friends, employees, are only extensions of himself. Once they no longer serve him sufficiently, they’re discarded. Why does any American feel he’ll look out for them?
Perhaps we have the smoke filled rooms of each party choose a candidate, then have them pull for the short straw (meet the new boss, same as the old boss). Voila (a French word but pronounced by us southern ’merican as walla), a new president is chosen.

That must be a really good radio, considering the likely distance to the next island with a broadcast station.

There is no one likely to win this election that would make me want to get off that island.
