Places that give you cheese and crackers or bread and butter before the meal must also be their favorite place to go.

Some bars used to offer a free lunch for their customers. This is why they don’t anymore, and also where the term “freeloader” came from.

When I was in college, my sister and I used to have lunch with our friends at this nifty Mexican cafe, which shall be nameless. When they moved into a new building our parents came over to have dinner with us before our evening choir rehersal. The proprietor swept by with water, glasses and chips and said, I’Il be back in a few minutes to take your order". About `15 minutes later the waitress came by and refilled our waters and chips. 20 minutes later the dishwasher came out to clean and bus a couple tables, and gave us more chips and salsa. Another 15 minutes later and the proprietor’s son refilled our glasses. Somebody else came by and dropped another basket of chips. We realized it was time for rehearsal and as we were leaving, the proprietor thanked us forcoming. Our parents told us that someone came by with menus 5 or 10 minutes later and were sorry my sister and I couldn’t stay. I don’t think they ever wised up that anything was wrong. They did have a delightful dinner … eventually!

We have a local steakhouse with a salad bar and it has many items like soup, salad, tacos etc. My brother eats all on the salad bar and takes the meal in a doggie bag.

I’m always full on chips when the main course arrives…

The Trump tax loophole paradigm is very similar.

What about the free biscuits they always give out at Red Lobsters

Long ago my baseball coach, after a particularly hot summer game, walked everyone into the local Friendly Ice Cream. So he and 12-15 young men in dirty uniforms descend on the place, and when asked what he would like, coach says “can we have some water?” After they pour and serve everyone a big glass of ice water, we drink it up and then walked across the street to a little deli/ice cream shop for cones! At the time I was too clueless to think anything was even wrong. I hope he tossed them $10 or something.

I’m thinking this is a Trump tax dig.

If that restaurant has any dishes that include porcine meat, Pig may be in trouble…!

The rolls at Texas Roadhouse. I’ve always said that one of these days, I’m going to go there and just order a drink and eat the rolls.

That’s why I love Mexican restaurants getting chips & salsa first. It wouldn’t surprise me if some people came for the chips & salsa then leave before ordering. Bad bad Rat

As for Rat, he’s just spilled the beans (so to speak) and ruined the gig….

Around here, the chips are only free if you order something else off the menu and most of them limit it to two bowls. If you don’t order anything else then they are not free.
