On the old Andy Griffith show there was an episode concerning Ernest T. Bass where they tried to do a My Fair Lady scenario with him and pass him off at Mrs. Wiley’s singles dance. As Andy and Barney hang around at the dance, Barney comments about the slim pickins available. In an unkind but humorous comment, Barney tells Andy that if you put a quail in the room, every woman there would stop what they were doing and point.
