I have to admit that I was almost guilty of this when I first put my older daughter in daycare when she was 9 months old. The daycare was actually a friend’s in-home daycare. I would put my daughter down, she would start to cry, and my friend would kindly and calmly WALK me to the door. Yeah, I was trained in no time. LOL
Come on, folks, this is a cartoon. Hasn’t this happened at least once to all of us? The whole world doesn’t end if you give in to your kid once in a (great) while. . .
It seems every season there will be another Heart-String pulling movie about some Dad (it’s never a Mom) who takes work too seriously and never makes it to his kids’ little league game, or recital, or whatever. I want somebody to make a movie where a Dad is like THIS dad, cancels his meetings so he can be with his kids, then LOSES HIS JOB and the family is eventually homeless.
I went to almost all my kids games and school plays. I canceled whatever had to be canceled to be able to do it and never had any troubles because of it. Family is most important, and work will always wait for me when I come back. If it was important work – I’d go back to office and stayed as long as needed to finish, but family is always #1.And no, I’m not self-employed.

I teach preschool and see this all the time. It’s called over parenting.

How sweet! Sometimes family truly is more important than anything else.

Where does he work that he can do this? It sounds like he’s self employed because not company would allow it.

And the enabling continues. This isn’t the first time. But…..it’s just a comic.
