Transcript:
Poncho: Wow, there's all sorts of food in the big white thing! Chazz: Those are leftovers. Poncho: Leftovers? Chazz: Yeah. Y'know, if you have some food, but you don't eat it all? Poncho: Huh? ? Chazz: If you can't eat all the food? You have some left over? You want to save it for later? Nevermind, just stay outta the big white thing. Poncho: I found some "leftovers" in the little grey thing!

Itâs interesting how selective his knowledge is. Even before birth he had an impressive vocabulary and knew everything about money and finance, yet somehow he doesnât know the word ârefrigeratorâ!
BTW, little colourblind puppy, the fridge and the garbage can are the same colourâŠ

Two points: one - over the last decade weâve determined that dogs have both rods and cones in their eyes and so are able to see color. The donât have as many cones as us, so itâs felt that they have a more subdued color sense and see the world in pastels. Lovely, lovely pastels. And two: even if he were colorblind, the âgreyâ trashcan would be a distinctly different colored than the white fridge. Pedantically yours, ken

I loves me some leftovers. Other peopleâs of course. I never have any myself.

The concept of leftovers is alien to Poncho!
Aryalover over 14 years ago
A difficult concept to dogs. Sort of like âLeftover wineâ is to humans.

Poncho has discovered paradise and Chazz will need to discover padlocks.

Ponchoâs inability to grasp the concept of leftovers has been dealt with before:
Chazz: âItâs when you have some food and you canât finish all of it, and you want to keep the rest for later.â
Poncho: âYour mouth is forming words that I know, but put together in that order they have no meaning.â
And later:
Poncho: âDid you know humans have things called âleftoversâ?â
Boomer: âWhatâs that?â
Poncho: âSometimes they donât eat all their food, and they save it.â
Boomer: Thatâs crazy talk. Why would they not eat all their food?â
Poncho: âIt doesnât make sense, but itâs true!â
Boomer: âLook, Iâm not an idiotâŠâ
Poncho: âI swear! It really happens!â

56 spams today by this jorer outfit. I am still convinced that Gocomics is taking bribes to let this go on and on.

My son always agreed with Dennis the Menace: leftovers are left over because nobody wanted them the first time, so NO WAY they will be wanted again. My wife is OK with leftovers, but you canât eat the same thing two nights in a row, and more than two days after cooking they need to go. I used to eat a lot of previous nightsâ suppers for lunch when I was working.
