Part of the problem of growing old is that your brain is forced to exist in a hostile and unfamiliar environment where nobody thinks, speaks or acts properly.

Does anyone remember “Word”? Back in the early 1990s, everybody cool at the Evergreen State College said that.

I sometimes tease my son (older teen who is into vintage/classic rock music) that one day his kids are going to be asking him what his favorite Justin Beiber song was or how he felt when One Direction split up, lol….

When I was a teenager it dawned on me that in the future grandparents would be sprawled across their couches smoking a joint in tie-dye pajamas when the buzz-cut grandkids came to visit; I was highly amused.

I think about stuff like this – how my generation will act in retirement homes. I entertain in retirement homes a few times a year, often with other entertainers who are usually singers who will sing or lead sing-a-longs to Patsy Cline’s, “Crazy,” and other songs appropriate for the current generation in the homes.

I personally am not looking forward to middle-aged women being hired to come to my future retirement home/Soylent Green Harvesting Camp to lead us in singing, “Whatcha gonna do with all that junk/All that junk inside that trunk/I’m a get get get get you drunk/Get you love drunk off my hump… C’mon, Mister Wiske! Join in! This song spoke to your generation! … Whatcha gonna do with all that ass…”
