Man in green pants: There's really no such word as "Xing". The "X" is just a symbol for "cross", not "extra", which wouldn't make any sense, but I digress. Anyway, it's used to save space on a sign and... Caption: The city's epicenter of jaywalking. Sign reads: Caution: PEDANTIC XING

Depending on the tone, the word xing can mean “prosper”, “star”, “orangutan”, “smell of carnage”, “walk”, “form”, “decapitate”, “model”, “wake up”, “lucky”, “gender”, “apricot”, or a number personal surnames and ancient provinces. Suggest you give a great deal of thought before crossing here.

Ha ha. Thanks, Dogsniff. I guess that you just never know how people will react to a comment. I’ll try not to lie awake grieving over this in the wee small hours. Cheers. :)

Just wait ‘til he goes into the part where they couldn’t use a cross symbol that looked like a t, because, well, that would infringe on the “Jesus Saves” saying, or people would always be putting an ‘h’ between the t and the i, thinking it was a pedestrian ‘thing’ and… oh you wouldn’t understand.

Speaking of saving space on a sign, how about the yellow and black “R X R” railroad crossing sign?

Perhaps, that pendent is rather pedestrian, in his pedagogical pronouncements ?

I’m not imaginary. I’m as real as real can be.

Every person is pedantic in their own way. Just hit the button on their pet peeve, their hobby, favorite food, their new car…whatever interests them the most! Don’t point fingers! Let me know if you want me to go on and on about pet house rabbits! Or vintage and antique jewelry.
