A lot of people have freckles. It’s not that much of a giveaway.

What Batgirl did was also wear a wig under her cape and cowl. On tv at least, a longer red wig. Most disguises work better in fiction than in reality.

Interesting how Batman, the Flash, Spider-Man or any other masked superhero don’t have distinctive facial features that everyone else would notice and know they’re Bruce Wayne, Barry Allen, and Peter Parker.

Yet Phoebe knew the kid in the helmet, covering his whole head, was Max…

You know, a good ink eraser can take care of that?

That’s what got to me about the “Your identity is your most valuable possession” speech from “The Incredibles.” Those masks really didn’t do a whole lot of good.

There was an issue of Superman in the 70’s where it was revealed that when Clark Kent is wearing his glasses he was unwittingly projecting his desire for people to see him as shorter and different from Superman and the glasses were “amplifying” his desire and basically hypnotizing people so they saw him the way he wanted to be seen.

The fanfic “Batmare Beyond” both has fun with it and comes up with a reason why those minimal disguises work.

The fun is on the cover of the morning paper, where a picture of Rarity Wayne at a society event and a picture of Batmare have them both in the exact same pose and the pictures were scaled the same. She was surprised no one was able to notice the match even without the fact that she was the only unicorn in Gotham.

The reason is that superhero settings, masks have a mystic effect. In essence, putting that little domino mask on causes the universe to tell people “this is Robin, not Dick Grayson.”

That’s okay, Pheebes. Because you’re in a comic strip, the domino mask disguises you perfectly. Ask Robin, The Spirit, Katana, Green Lantern, etc. It’s the law of comics!
