Pelican is one exotic bird that I never heard mention of in Medieval time. They often dined on peafowl, swans and such and decorated the platters with their feathers - also never ate useful birds like hunting halks or clever parrots.

A delicious recipe for Brown Pelican, with apple cider, ginger beer and ice. Also lists similar drink recipes.

    Non-Alcoholic * - Most people prefer gin.

    Fizzy drinks

5 oz apple cider 2 1/2 oz ginger beer ice

Combine in a mixing glass, stir gently and pour over ice cubes in a highball glass.

I had hoped the pelican was gone. I can tolerate him just sitting there, like Puddles in LuAnn, but TALKING? Hell no.
