Reminds me of a Stephen King story where this guy’s brother develops this chemical that makes people more docile and peaceable. the downside is it makes everyone go senile early and reduces the human race to a bunch of doddering idiots
The beginning reminds me of part of Cien Años de Soledad, where everyone in Macondo develops insomnia, consequently amnesia, and they have to do things like hang signs on cows to remind themselves to milk them and then boil the milk for café con leche ’’ and so on.
Funny idea today. As if relearning things can somehow bring back emotional things. If they have no memory of them reading about would just be puzzling. Blaming knowledge instead of irrationality and petty hatreds being the problem regardless of what language it is in is mistaken. The animosity of us vs them thinking is the problem not language. Though language can be used to promote or decline such ideas.
And as to this story line, it assumes people lack the ability to choose violence or peace and will only be at peace if they don’t know they have alternatives.

Complete nonsense. Knowledge is inversely correlated with violence.

“Complete nonsense. Knowledge is inversely correlated with violence.”
.
He said without any knowledge of reality.
For example Putin is a very knowledgeable man and doesn’t mind creating much violence.
In contrast, I have known many Special Education kids who were completely pacifistic.
.
Both in total contrast to the simplistic concept of people only are violent if they are ignorant.
Having enlightened him, though, I run the risk of him violently beating me.

Also simplistic and silly.
