Maybe the kids are enjoying the country, natural life right now, but scrounging is a young person’s game.

    In your fifties and sixties…

I don’t think those are Mary Lou and the Shrimp; they’re customers. It illustrates they’re doing business in October.

A new week leads off with a dig at an old offhand comment. Where’s this arc going?

At last! I’ve been waiting for a long time for a story line with Gene & family! I hope this one lasts for a few weeks.

In regards to Gene’s hair…. I am going to take the stance that he has for some unknown reason decided to bleach it. Shrimp’s hair…. I will go with the idea that it is left over purple that remained from dyeing her hair for something to do with her Halloween costume.

    .

As for the “scrounging business”…. well, if they can be comfortable with the ambiguity and uncertainty of their current lifestyle, then no problem in my opinion.

    .

I personally feel on edge with that sort of ambiguity. But, different folks feel differently.

Today brings to a head the decades old question of whether Gene’s hair is blond or brown (or summer-lightened).

When I first saw it depicted as blond back then, I was surprised and did my best to search for any brunette Gene appearances, and couldn’t. Now I want to know: has Jimmy Johnson himself ever depicted Gene as a blond (or is it just a colorist thing).

It’s my birthday today and a resolution to this mystery would be a really great gift.
