Gene: Oh! Mom! You and Dad haven't seen our new espresso machine! Gene: We get several people a day looking for an expensive cup of coffee! Gene: A barrista friend showed us all about high-end coffee! Then his shop went under. Gene: We get a lot of equipment that way.

Sad, but true. “High end” spenders crowd is shrinking, and what’s left with most of the money can’t drink enough coffee to fill in for the 2000 middle class who used to drink it.

You’re wrong according to Dictionary.com. A barrista is a noun, a preparer / server in a coffee bar.

At least they didn’t have to pay regular price for that equipment. And even if the bottom has dropped out of the market for fancy, over-priced coffee, it doesn’t take many servings per day for that machine to pay for the space it takes up.

A 10% markup on the cost to make a serving.. volume of sales will be high enough to justify product.

I think the phrase “a lot of equipment” is showing that they are growing more than the narrative had been letting on.

I love recycling and re-purposing! Used to just be cheap, now highly in fashion.
