Maybe a gluten-free Android app wouldn’t be “bloatware.”

One of the aisle signs in our local supermarket reads:

    GLUTEN FREE

    GREETING CARDS

Rita is as brilliant as a box of rocks. The arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury in electronics are organic and gluten free.

I gave out 85 two-dollar bills last evening to trickertreaters who came to the door. That’s 170 bucks. I won’t do that again. Next year I’ll give out one dollar bills. Or better yet not answer the doorbell.

If they’re dumb enough to believe gluten is bad, they’re dumb enough to buy the app.

All of this crap concerning gluten is ridiculous. Stupid fads so many buy into. Rita understands it well enough to want to get some of that action.

I keep seeing water marked gluten free. I mean seriously, if water has gluten in it then it should not be marked water but some drink mix.

They could make sure that the app contains — somewhere — the text “gluten” and then market it as “containing non-allergenic gluten”. Eh?

I have to honestly say that even though the whole gluten free fad can be a pain, it has also been really helpful for the people that have Celiac Disease or are just gluten intolerant. Before the fad, the variety of gluten free foods was very limited. Now, there are several selections. My daughter became wheat intolerant and I was very happy when she was able to have mac-n-cheese again.

The “gluten free fad can be a pain” to whom? Having celiac disease is much worse than having to see (gasp) labels informing those who need the information that a product is gluten free. Never once have I seen anyone complain that some products are marked with the symbol for kosher. Yet, the wailing and gnashing of teeth for ‘gluten free’ continues. (Labeling the celiac community fought to get for decades but the big food companies fought tooth and nail)

The store where I work sells pork rinds labeled “0 carbs.” A lady asked if they were diet. It’s pure pig fat with a little spice.

Hey, plenty of people fall for some chicken companies bragging that they don’t use any growth hormones when all chicken is produced without hormones, so there’s nothing special about their chicken.

She has a point. I love when fruit is advertised as gluten free.
