I’ve always suspected that there was something fishy about Sylvester Spivey !
There’s more to this whale’s tale than meets the eye.
It wasn’t a fluke that he traded the sofa suite for that pathetic piece of plywood pescado !
He’s been angling for a new comfy couch for months but his wife Sylvia Spivey, wouldn’t budge on the budget and allow him to purchase the plush leather lounge,r that featured dual, remote controlled recliners, cup holders, a place for the TV remote and cell phones,a refrigerated compartment for storing his beer, and another for ice for his drinks. Did I mention that both of the reclining sections had a built-in vibrator ?
Perhaps now that Sylvia seas she has to navigate around that tacky, tropical trout table, she’ll realize that she’d better give aweigh to Sylvester and buy the sofa on sail.

All those fancy decorators like to look at a piece of old furniture and say,
“Well, it has good bones.”Well…. this one doesn’t.
Those are fish bones you could choke on in a whole new way.
Then again, assumptions and speculation to the contrary notwithstanding,
I don’t think Mrs. Spivey looks all that displeased.
After all, she, too, attended Sophie Hopkins course,
“Halibut dishes and silverware divining”
at the Ballard and Main Street Senior Center and Fish Market,
along with me and Lilah Kirby.
She didn’t take to the silverware divining
preferring to use her mother’s old Reed and Barton silver for its intended purpose……
But she did learn to love cooking halibut.
Since then, she has branched out…..
Fish for dinner at least three times a week…..
And not always halibut!
What will they have to trade for half a dozen fish chairs?

The sofa and chairs wouldn’t have fit in the same room with it anyway, so it worked out.
