Amazing what the GOP has done in the last 4 years as a minority.

You got something against minorities?

Yeah you would think that the Dems, with a filibuster proof lead in the Senate and a large majority in the House with a Democratic President could have passed any bill they wanted in, what, 15 minutes? But even with such an advantage they bleeep about the GOP being the party of “No” and use that as an excuse for not being able to fix our economy and all the other problems facing our nation today. Even with their advantage they had to attach items to Obamacare that have nothing to do with healthcare in order to get something passed. If Obamacare dealt with healthcare and only healthcare, wih no pork attached or specifal provisions for special groups and lawmakers inserted to buy their vote, then not even the Dems would have passed that obmination.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious RichardSRussell. It is amazing how many people gloss totally over the fact that the Democrats never had total control of the Senate or that the Republican Party has done everything they can to obstruct the functioning of the government

Oh, and herdleader, the health care overhaul was long overdue. The only problem with it is that it did not go far enough. I would have much preferred a Germany-style system. It is perfectly sustainable, as it’s been around for more than 125 years, and folks in Germany are happier with their system than we are with ours on whole. And standard of living? Well, I used to live there (and not in an American ghetto), and it’s a rather wonderful place to live all in all.
