She’s doing better than some screenwriters, who boast of “adapting” a book they haven’t actually read.

But I wonder if the book she read was one of those “Cliff’s Notes” books?

Had a dorm mate in college who watched the movie version of a book rather than read it. He got an OK grade on his paper; however, the professor bluntly noted at the end “Decent movie review; next time, read the book!” He did!

Don’t worry Patty, once the internet’s invented you’ll never have to read the book again!

My book reports would most likely be on “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”

I’ve collected all those books. I love them and it gives me some idea of what American middle schools are like as well as giving me a good laugh!

One time in high school I had to give an oral book report. So I gave it on a fictitious book that I’d (kinda in my mind) written myself! I got an A on the deal, and enjoyed myself, so it was win-win. (I can still remember the author’s name: “Simon Madison.”)

Our English teacher in the eighth grade had a form you were supposed to fill out for a book report and it had to be done in class. I hadn’t read a book; so I made one up. Title, Story line, Author, and publisher. It was about a father and son crashing a plane in the mountains. Best grade I ever got on a book report. A+

I once did a book report without reading the book. Well, that’s not technically true, I’d read the book years before I had to do the report and worked on the report from memory. Got a passing grade, think it was a B-.
