He looks just crazy enough to try to take that squirrel on. It’s probably some school’s mascot walking to the game in costume.

No squirrel is a match for Rudy….

the self-proclaimed Squirrel Annihilator of Cherry Street Hill.

Of course, if Mist is right,

and it’s really a honey badger,

he might be forced to reconsider,

but he can take on a school mascot, no problem.

Acorn School, at Main and Ballard, has just such a mascot, too.

Apropos of nothing, I head out today to spend the Christmas holiday with family in NC. I will have sporadic access to the website, but may be out of touch for a day or three at a time. Fear not. I shall return to Ballard Street whenever I am able. I have faith that y’all can carry on without me. Carry on.

Rudy better hope that the squirrel hadn’t been tot the Tiki.Squirrels tend to be mean drunks anyway, but they are definitely beligerent when they run out of beer nuts.

    Mornin’ Ballardeers !

It’s finally Friday and for those of you who haven’t finished your Christmas shopping, there’s a terrific sale going on at StelBel’s Wonderful World of Inflatables & Yurt Emporium

What says Christmas better than an inflatable Santa, replete with inflatable sled and inflatable reindeer, gracing your front lawn ?

And who can resist a yurt festooned with flashing LED christmas lights ( synchronized to the Christmas carols of your choice ) ?

You can do like I did and turn your yurt into a nativity scene, using Stelbel’s life sized blowup creche figure, including shepherds, animals, wise men, Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus.

They are very realistic with the exception of the angel.

Something happened over at X-Tech Industries when they were making the inflatable angels and somehow the faces of the herald angels turned out looking like Darth Bane from Star Wars ( fine with me but a little scary for the little ones ).

    .

Anyway, Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays !

    .

I’m headed out to the Peru/Ecuador Frontier to do a little Christmas smug…er…last minute purl….ah… late shopping !

If it’s about four feet tall, then that’s got to be Freddy Fizzlewick’s Laotian giant flying squirrel, out loose again. He’s harmless. His squirrel, not so much.

    .

Are any of those nummer daqs left? I want to start seeing giant squirrels, too. Not socially, though.
