Zonker: Can you stand it, friends/ The House Of Lords summoning me for duty? I mean, how many former surfers can make that claim? Is the English-speaking world great or what? One of my colleagues, The Duke Of Punts-On-Thames, even sent me my regalia! Talk about the red carpet treatment! J.J.: Speaking of which, where're you staying? Zonker: I'm crashing at his castle. Is this great? Mike: It's you, your dudeship.

There is a particular word in Italian for Zonker stay at other people home : “Scroccone”

Sounds better than its English equivalent, “scrounger.”

Nothin’ like crashin’ at the castle !
.
Reminds me of a stanza from Jimmy Buffet’s Gypsies in the Palace…
.
We’re gypsies in the palace, he’s left us here alone
The order of the sleepless knights will now assume the throne
We ain’t got no money, we ain’t got no right
But we’re gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight

“We once had this long discussion about whether the Rom and the Traveling People weren’t somehow related – the lifestyle, the bad reputation, the close knit families, even many of the customs were similar.”
.
Linguistically (thus right down your alley), the Roma are kin to Celts and people of the Indus Valley, thus to me with my Welsh, Irish and Scot ancestors.
(Louis L’Amour even touched on it with his Tinker in the Sackett novels even though the linguistic work hadn’t been done at the time.)
