    Sounds better than its English equivalent, “scrounger.”

    Nothin’ like crashin’ at the castle !

    .

    Reminds me of a stanza from Jimmy Buffet’s Gypsies in the Palace

    .

    We’re gypsies in the palace, he’s left us here alone

    The order of the sleepless knights will now assume the throne

    We ain’t got no money, we ain’t got no right

    But we’re gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight

    I like the wig. Make it in orange and the Donald could have an optional “look.”

    The House of Lords will soon be saying, “Oh, Lord, what have we done?”

    Linguist said,

    @Night-Gaunt49

    “We once had this long discussion about whether the Rom and the Traveling People weren’t somehow related – the lifestyle, the bad reputation, the close knit families, even many of the customs were similar.”

    .

    Linguistically (thus right down your alley), the Roma are kin to Celts and people of the Indus Valley, thus to me with my Welsh, Irish and Scot ancestors.

    (Louis L’Amour even touched on it with his Tinker in the Sackett novels even though the linguistic work hadn’t been done at the time.)
