This series is utterly ridiculous. Bogus titles have been sold for a long time, but they would not get one a seat in the House of Lords. The Lords don’t wear wigs in the House. I could go on.

It’s satire, Jonathan. More slapstick than is normal for Trudeau, but the House of Lords is intrinsically ludicrous – a major part of the British parliamentary system consisting of unelected bishops (of one only of the many Christian sects operating in Britain), plus descendants of mass murderers, the illegitimate offspring of mediaeval kings, arms dealers, newspaper owners and party donors, padded out with superannuated politicians who voted the way they were told for their whole careers.

Although 90% of elected British politicians are scum as well.
