I’m loving that so many here knew about the Heinlein novel.
I’m hating that not being able to get to sleep at a reasonable hour last night made me sleep in by at least four hours, possibly preventing me from having been the first one to make the reference! :)
Don’t let house cats out side. It shortens their lives and brings back picked up parasites. Ludwig would not like the rain. And the floor show of lightning an thunder would damage his sensibilities. The short story about a house built as a functioning tesserach was good.
“The Door Into Summer” is one of the lesser known classics of Heinlein, yet one of the best. I should dig up my copy and reread it, or better yet see how much it is for a Kindle copy. I need a cat like the one in “The Door into Summer”.
Harry Harrison had the ultimate time travel paradox novel with Slippery Jim encountering himself three times without realizing it until the end. They don’t make SF authors like those any more.

Throw his furry butt outside for 5 minutes. That’ll stop his complaining!

Luddy should go to every door and window in the house. Surely one of them will be clear!

Luddie has a litter box to use. It’s Rover, Wally, Snoopy and Koko who have to brave the wet weather.
