At this point, religion should be considered a story with a moral, or several. Some of the morals are outdated, others are still good. But the stories of any religion can’t serve as a substitute for science, especially when so many have been conlusively disproven.
The story probably didn’t really happen, but it has a good moral, and the moral is what’s important.

I don’t believe anything. What I accept I have been shown verified proof. But then Science is no religion.
