They look like they’re about to write some parking tickets.

Probably to make math class easier – as most jocks can’t count to 21 with their pants on……..

Actually, the term “jock” meant male genitals, and the strap was the work of the mid-19th century. Jocks might be called “jocks” because the wear jock straps, or it might simply imply that jocks are… well… “jocks.”
