Don’t worry, Flint. We remember, and we’re doing what we can.

Much more fun and impactful to halt big trucks, tractors, dozers, and diggers getting petroleum to market so it can maintain our favourable way of life, providing the protest doesn’t actually deprive us immediately. Doesn’t matter that pipelines cross rivers all over the nation now.

first, it was a significant enough risk that they moved the pipeline away from a small white community.second, it is an effort to prevent something. unfortunately the flint water issue was realized – at least by the general public and at which time public pressure would come into play – after the impact happened and it was being addressed. granted more slowly than it should and without responsible parties being held accountable as they should.third, there was significant public and celerity attention and donations made.fourth, Nic Anderson doesn’t give a crap about the people in Flint, MI, he’s just using them as a prop to be dismissive about their concerns.

Except the protests are more about honoring property rights and obeying Federal law, but hey, why quibble when there is money to be made.

@Gypsy8As long as we’re quibbling if you dismiss the facts that the native land was stolen by genocide and broken treaties then you are correct.

One of the reasons the left has taken up the anti-pipeline cause is because of lessons learned in Flint — it’s better to stop stupidity before it causes irreparable damage. I for one welcome such rare efforts to get ahead of the curve.

Instead of all this quibbling, lets do something about the real problems. Drinking water is becoming scarce. The pipeline threatens the only source of drinking water for a large population. What about a pipeline to take water to California? There is already enough oil in in production to cause a global catastrophe (sometime called global warning aka global warming.

The point is that the Democratic mayor has no power other than that of attracting attention, which she did. All power in Flint rests in the hands of a genocidal Republican-appointed Gauleiter. Heil Trump! Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fürher. I went through that as a child and now I must fight it again as an old man.

It’s going to take time to undo the cluster-Flint in Michigan. Lead pipe needs to be replaced, Congress came together in a way that would make Superposition proud & funded money to continue undoing the mess.
