She did let him off too easy. Should’ve at least made him say a couple Hail Susies before giving him absolution.

Every once in a while he realizes his actions have consequences and then puts it out of his mind.

Don’t you see that smile on his face? All the guilt has been washed away.

I think Calvin’s apology (this time) was sincere and Susie should accept it. She did at first, but now she wants him to grovel. He didn’t mean anything when he expressed pleasure at the apology being over. It’s like going to the doctor for a shot or having to take a test in school. Once it’s over, you’re relieved. That’s all he was trying to say. He took his medicine and he feels better.

This is exactly what I went through with someone who used to be an online friend. I lost my temper after quite a lot of provocation and told them some home truths; then a “mutual friend” stalked me online to stir up a little more drama. I apologised, in detail, and was told it “wasn’t sincere.” I apologised again for hurting the first person’s feelings, and he then demanded an apology to stalker! That was when I gave up. Middle school was a long time ago.

They’re both right.

The comics are great still. But I liked the previous format better.

Dance, monkey, dance!

Good manners and social niceties are like everything that needs to be taught. Start early and be consistent. My mini-me (he’s 4) apologizes without being instructed to do so.

Calvin is the master of insincere sincerity.

There was an old saying that I think went like this: "If you can fake sincerity ,you have got it made "!

Both his guilt and apology were authentic. He just recovers quickly.

ODD DOG-Although that one works I believe the proper term is “Cowpies” .LWP-They self-destructed again and have only themselves to blame.

Us women are so difficult aren’t we?

In the US we often refer to some women as “high maintenance.” But Susie isn’t high maintenance; Calvin is high maintenance.

When I was Calvin’s age I stood up for myself:) I only groveled after the little girls beat me up:(

Calvin did more that the next POTUS would even think of doing.
