    Personally, when I use a public bathroom, I’m more focused on getting my business done and going on with my day than in checking out my fellow bathroom users to see whether or not they meet with my approval, but that’s just me.

    TOO SURREAL {a rhyme}

    Too bizarre. Too surreal.

    Surely The Donald can’t REAL-ly be real!!

    Too much is Trump a loudmouthed schlemiel.

    Too much does he threaten our commonweal.

    Too much of our lunch he would ravenously eat.

    Surely he’s not won the President’s seat!?!?!

    { … As a novel it’d surely not ever get printed.

    Too crazily twisted, aberrant, demented.}

    This whole thing could be solved…in NC, at least….by labeling the doors "penises. and “vaginas”. At least, that is unequivocal. It might, however, lead to battles of ’I’ll show you mine if you show me yours’.

    Nobody seems to be commenting on the actual point of the cartoon, which is an outrageous power grab by North Carolina Republicans, to subvert the will of the people who elected a Democrat. It’s too bad that the state legislature is filled with people with no morals or ethics. I suppose that people can start voting with their feet: North Carolina has already lost millions upon millions of dollars worth of business because of their discriminatory law (of which the “bathroom subjection” is a very small subsection, indeed). Now I wonder if people will want to move to a state that practices democracy……..

    This calling liberals names, because conservatives won is getting old. The N. Carolina thing over-rode what the people wanted.The Democrats did the same thing to themselves by rigging the vote against Sanders.We should all realize that we are all Americansfirst, different opinions 2nd.

    The “pervert in the bathroom” issue ALWAYS comes up in these discussions.I heard a caller on NPR today talking about John Walsh’s son being taken from a restroom.Apparently she is unaware that he was taken by a MAN from a MEN’S restroom! And where was Mr. Walsh?

    Are bathroom users required to show their birth certificates before entering? There’s a whole new occupation: pecker checkers.

    Remember how Republicans used to tell us that totalitarians use the rules to become elected and then abolish the rules so they can stay in power forever? Now look at what they’re doing in NC: They lost the election, so they’re scrambling to reduce the power of the governor.

    .

    As always, projection is the GOP’s tell. Whatever they squawk about, they’re either about to do, or they’re already doing it. (But then it’s okay—because they’re Republicans.)

    @Kip W

    As when Newt Gingrich would call Bill Clinton a “pot-smoking draft dodger”, when Gingrich was (ahem) a pot-smoking draft dodger. Not the old realtor cliche’ of “location location location”, but the Republican theme these days is “projection projection projection.”

    Nothing like casting a whole political party as trash. For shame Toles. No debate. No conversation. No compromise. Republicans have demanded everything be their way since 2008. Now we’re going to get it. And where are we going? Into the trash. Is this your Christmas wish? Shame on you.

    HOPES HARSHLY DISPELLED {a rhyme}

    Most of my decades were lived content

    that Democracy’s progress increasingly meant

    that “commonweal” values were on the ascent, -

    - that all was going just ducky, quite well. …

    … But alas, that’s all passed. We couldn’t foretell

    that Rightists our hopes would so harshly dispel.

    re Unisex toilets:An anthropologist might notice that in-Americans’-Homes {‘tho’ not in public} they’re okay: Unisex bathrooms {even for house-parties attended by others-than-intimates}, – AND that many Other cultures have gender-neutral facilities for in-Public eliminations of body-fluids. … … It looks like Rightwing America associates “sex acts” with “bladder/bowels eliminations”; – a perversion especially pronounced in Our culture.

    After working in a male dominant field, I can say I used the men’s loo in time of dire need. It’s called avert your eyes, take care of business and exit. No problem. There are never enough women’s facilities and I refuse to make a mess in my clothes.

    WE GRIEVE {a limerick}

    Today is the new year’s eve,

    and already we’ve started to grieve

    that Trump will be

    in the {presidency} presidencee.

    From disaster there’ll be no reprieve.
