It’s hard sometimes, when one person is a dreamer, and the other a realist.

But if the dreamer is also a doer, like Mary Lou, and the realist can try to trust, and be supportive, it’s actually a good combination for moving life forward.

On a totally different subject…. people are asking lots of questions about the new site, and several of us try to answer…

But one thing we keep forgetting is that Pro … now insider members see a different page. I don’t have any experience yet with a non-Pro page on the new site.

So PaulorNancy, you asked yesterday about seeing prior pages….all I can tell you is that with an “Insider” account, you get all your comics on one page…. with a calendar on top just like the ones on each comic,

with which you can look at the whole thing on any date. I have no idea whether it’s there on a non-Insider page.

Nosirrom … first….. thanks for your reply above.

I don’t like the way those are now “nested”…. no way to set your page to display an expanded view, so I think a lot of them get missed.

My suggestion to anyone writing a reply that’s actually of general interest is to just add the person’s name to a fresh comment, as I’m doing in answering you. That way it will be displayed in the forum instead of hidden.

So… a non-insider page lacks the convenience, as it did before, of a Sunday paper style layout on one page (or more if the user chooses that option), and has no calendar for the full page.

I guess one comic at a time may be, then, the only way to go back to another day if you are not an Insider subscriber.

But our profile pages are the same. I was hoping we’d get 20 or 30 past comments on them after this change… but no, only 10.

BTW… to me, the 99 cents a month, now going up to $1.50, is minuscule compared to the ads and the lack of a page layout. Your mileage may vary.

But to address some concerns I’ve heard…. I know I’m just one person….

but in almost 6 years, I have never had a problem with the card payment here, or the the automatic renewal, except once when they didn’t take it, and I had to call them.

Any time you use your debit or card or write a check, you give somebody your checking account or card number.

People who write $150 checks for antique thing-a-ma-bobs to an unknown drifter at the flea market won’t give a debit card number over the phone to a big company for a $20 charge.

Meanwhile… they’ve apparently changed it so they take monthly payments now if $20 all at once is hard….

Maybe they take PayPal… or e-checks instead of cards…

and some banks will let you set up a small free checking account, just for internet transactions, in which you keep a very low balance, so that you can limit exposure to the rest of your funds.

    Just a thought.

Remember though Gene. If you want to serve soup and sandwich lunches to customers, you have to have an installed kitchen on location.Besides, now you try cooking more items. And have established menu prices.

Realists and dreamers are both necessary — just it’s hard for them to co-exist. They have to be tolerant of each other.

Notice the wife is happy with what has been done, the husband is lamenting what had to be spent and the loss it incurs now.

This is January 12th but all my comics are yesterdays. Even the calendar says the 12th but still getting the 11th’s comics. Am I the only one?
