I once saw a science fiction movie about a voyage to Uranus, a foreign made film dubbed in English. Throughout, every time the planet’s name was pronounced, the second syllable was rendered with a schwa rather than the usual “long a” sound, and the accent was moved to the first syllable. More or less, it was YOUR-uh-nus. Problem neatly solved, at least as for that Saturday afternoon matinee. I’m guessing that we’ll never have an English language movie about such a journey… unless Adam Sandler decides to make one.

The movie you saw was probably 1962’s “Journey to the Seventh Planet”, a joint Danish/American production.
