In my job as the PC Specialist, I had a DVD drive in which a disc had exploded into shards inside the drive, jamming the eject mechanism. I assumed that the drive was going to be toast, but after I got all the pieces out, the drive worked fine! I didn’t think that sort of catastrophic failure was even possible!
I’ve heard the joke about people using the disc trays for cup holders, but this is the first time I heard about someone trying to use it as a card reader.
