Grew up waiting for “sci-fi” technology and feel the same way

Might be just as well, I don’t understand most of the technology we do have

Between the time I wrote this cartoon and now, I discovered a Neil Gaiman story about an Un-Inventor who had felt it necessary to uninvent all that Jetsons stuff as it was invented. So that’s why we don’t have it.

We have jetpacks and flying cars. They are just too expensive to be useful.

Just remember, the Jetsons were from the CEO class while the working class Flintstones lived below with GMO animals helping them with their work.

Uber is looking into flying cars. Who knows – maybe soon.

I’ll gladly trade flying cars for computers in our pockets. Which we have. Sure, it’d be nice to have flying cars and moon bases, but at the same time, it’s nice just having technology that, if you went back in time 40 years, would have every sci-fi show going crazy, that you really do have a computer in your pocket, and it’s more powerful than any computer on Earth at that time.

I never understood the desire for flying cars, at least not the ones shown in the cartoons. What’s worse than a car crash in mid-air? Being under it!
