As someone with Scandinavian ancestry, HOW did brown-haired Vikings lighten their hair? (I was once blond when as a little whipper-snapper until it naturally browned). As for the bearcat, that was also the mascot of my rival high school: William F. West High School in Chehalis, Lewis County, Washington. http://chehalisschools.org/wfw/about-w-f-west/
Why would Vikings want their hair to appear lighter? Their beard/stach would still be dark (at least as suggested by the picture). Just a “fad” of fashion for them like it often is for us? Or another reason?
