More reruns. At least this was an entertaining week at Sarah Palin’s expense.

Is cell theory in biology the equivalent of set theory in maths?

    re: Jogger2 maths v math

you may want to ask it the other way around: when did “maths” become “math”. “maths” is shorthand for mathematics, the logic and science of arithmetic, calculus, etc. Only in America, do people tend to shorten mathematics to “math”.

    Modern cell theory involves phones.

correction for lifeofB: if you mean by “America”, the continents of North and South America, ok. If you meant US only, wrong–as I’ve seen this misusage in neighbouring Canada (I was raised mostly in Calgary) as well.

Nighthawks and Rogetbut: Yes, but Palin has an extremely virulent strain to which other right-wingers seem susceptible. It’s toxic.

If all cells come from pre-existing cells, where did the first cell come from?

In a forum where the public is free to post, such as this one, I haven’t been seeing “math” – it seems like it is always “maths.” Maybe United Staters don’t think much about math.

Paudil asks a very interesting question: I found some current speculation on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eukaryote#Originandevolution

Wow! Some liberals seem to be awfully afraid of Sarah Palin. Why? Keep beating up on her and she won’t disappear into the muck of long gone politics. Instead, she’ll be right there in the news at just the moment you don’t want her to be, because you kept her there!

laughaday says: Dypak: Maybe I’m reading more into it than you meant, but I take issue with the implication in your comment “It always makes me wonder why folks consider [Trudeau] such an ultra-liberal. He takes the time to know what is going on in the military and bothers to get it right. No one hates war more than a soldier.” As a “liberal” with a year in Vietnam behind me, I’d like to think that could apply to me. It’s the chicken-hawks like Bush, Cheney, and Clinton who misuse the military, whether liberal or conservative. — Sorry laughaday, no offense meant. I think I probably agree with your politics more than I would disagree. All I meant was people unfairly judge Trudeau. Trudeau hated the Viet-Nam War, but honored and respected the soldiers. And he continues to respect todays military, while blasting those, such as Bush/Cheney and Clinton, who dishonor it.

Really, why is Trudeau running a rerun from just a few months ago? Palin is the proverbial footnote to history now.
