I taught school for five years. This strip reminds me of why I spent my planning period in the library rather than in the teachers’ lounge.

Shades of “The Faculty”…

I recognise all of those teachers.

Everybody suspected as much…

It looks more to me like someone has opened the refrigerator in the teachers’ lounge.

The teachers aren’t taking the smoking ban well.

Teachers today have really let themselves go!

Speaking as a teacher myself, I can say that Tatulli nailed it!

I’ve seen variations of this trope, teachers are inhuman monsters.
