Professor: I take it you don't know the answer, Mr. Harris? Zipper: But it's not the kind of question that your average Joe Kegger cares about. It's only the elite filters that care! Professor: Elite filters? Zipper: Right. The college insiders. Professor: You mean the faculty. Zipper: Right - it's time for them to get out of the way!

=) naw Roger but not the Pibgorn one, I was making a poor atempt to mimic Zipper Actually. But the point of the origional statement was still valid =) I franklly dont know when the last time some one other then a dem or rep was president, but I’ld take guess that it mighta been a Whig. Simpply due to the fact that they were at least big enough to warrent being remebered by the public in general.

The last Whig to serve as president was Millard Fillmore, who served from 1850 (after Zachary Taylor died in office) to 1853.
However, Andrew Johnson (who succeeeded Abraham Lincoln in 1865) was technically a member of the National Union Party during his term. Johnson had been a Democrat before the National Union Party was formed as an alliance of pro-Lincoln Republicans and War Democrats in 1864. See

Even a little post-modernist deconstuctionism - anti-traditionalist - because it points out the flaws in much of what passes for current political ‘thinking’ - it’s funny in a serious way, which is what all true, and truly great, comedy does - try to take a humorous look at a serious situation -

Ok, I trust you guys. It really is funny – sorta – in a not-funny kinda way – in a manner of speaking – if you read it right – just not “haha” funny – maybe

UncaAlby: the joke is stretching a little thin, yeah. Zipper just isn’t the best character, either.

Hmmm… Did any of you guys watch the vice presidential debate? Zipper/Sarah Palin?

UncaAlby: the joke is stretching a little thin, yeah. Zipper just isn’t the best character, either. Well, that’s Ok. We can’t expect Pulitzer material every day! I’m willing to give the guy some slack. Tomorrow will make up for it, though, right? Just 6 or so more hours.

Are you kidding? This is the kind of material the Pulitzer people love! They love that subtle humor, the kind that is so dry it’s brittle. They’ll use words like “wicked” and “ground breaking” to describe it. In this case I hae to agree, it’s a pretty clever plot line and pokes some wicked fun at the Palin crowd.

Zipper’s kinda like Jughead from the Archie strip. That or Maynard G. Krebbs from Dobie Gillis. Just not hitting on all cylinders.LOL
