I would love to travel but I get travel anxiety in unfamiliar places and don’t really know anybody (who is a regular holiday traveller) who would come with me.
People at work are always asking me why I never go on holiday, I just say that I’m not really a traveller. I like to keep my work life and personal life poles apart if I can.
Been there, done that (pretty much each of those suggestions). I would be circumspect about visiting Turkey today, with the megalomaniacal would-be dictator and sultan Erdogan running things, though generally the people when not djinned-up with nationalistic or Islamist rhetoric are very nice and hospitable.
Here’s an idea Mrs. Pastis and Sonny-Boy (a.k.a. Cartoon-Boy). Visit Greece! There is so much to see, and the people are amazing considering the seven-plus years of economic catastrophe and the huge influx of refugees! Oh, —and the current heatwave.
(FYI: I am not Greek. But I have spent a lot of time there and love the country.)
Ahem…. The ugliest thing going on in Europe should be that we will be getting a visit by 19 heads-of-state next Friday. Including Mr. Tiny-grabbing-hands.

The trick is to not say anything until after you’ve done it, as in “Hi Mom, I’m in Turkey.”

She let Stephan become a lawyer; she can’t be THAT protective.

On Halloween, does she worry that all the trick-or-treaters are carrying guns in their candy sacks?

None of these things is nearly as dangerous as writing pun comics. Assuming anyone who knows where he lives reads his strip.

There’s a kind of proto-Pastis visual pun over in today’s “Nancy Classics.”
