Didn’t Rosalind Franklin get the memo? Discovering DNA is a vigorous endeavor, and if a woman was to engage in it, there would be a significant danger of her uterus falling out.

I would prefer just to continue my dance without the crisis part, when the next big one hits I will be moving to my makers beat though.

    Beautiful poem.

I searched and searched for the painting. Never did find it until I came back here and found some one else had posted it. But I did find these very good paintings instead:

whenever i have a crisis (having several now thanks), life does seem to be dancing with me stepping on my toes and swinging me into furniture

or it’s a gift, like a bottle of electric reindeer shiraz (can’t stand wine) or a cat gift (half eaten gecko at 3 am)

ah well, once more around the sun we go

Since the witness protection program placed me in this small Utah town, you’d think I’d have - BUT HAVE NOT - seen a cowgirl quite like that!

Oh, and Happy Birthday Charlie Brown!

The Creator of Frog Applause tries. I’ll give her credit for that. But you just have to feel sorry for her today. After all, she’s competing against the simultaneously outrageous, edgy, hilarious, risky and subtle humor of another Garfield lasagna gag (how DOES he keep it so fresh?). I don’t care who you are, you simply can’t deny the comic superiority of a reheated pasta-infused theme versus the stale originality of frogs, mice, horses, cows (and stuff).

Rotifer-Thanks for joining me on the soap box (your fancy new avatar). Hopefully our plight will not go unrecognized. You know I do what I can to help promote originality - sometimes confused with bad taste. As a cartoonist looking for a “break”, or at least a few more devoted readers, I am even farther behind the 8 ball than our dear Teresa. I was hoping a little front page press in the Daily Brie would help, but I suppose not. You don’t know how hard it is to resist the notion to make Mistress Mouse a cute little furry creature with oversized eyeballs wearing a full length dress and serving Mad Mouse a huge pan of fresh lasagna. I’ve heard that’s the secret to comic strip success… but only if you can pull that sheot off day after day. I think I’d rather impale myself with my pen.

Since the day a few months ago I started my book review blog, I have included a link to the Frog Blog. It’s in the right-hand column, under “Cool Places to Go and Visit.”

FlightSuit, in reference to your comment about balut(s) from 2 days ago, I assume that you must be an anti-abortionist then, correct? Of course in that case the embryos aren’t boiled alive, just scraped and sucked from the womb in which they’re gestating, or if left to gestate beyond 20 weeks, pulled out and having a surgical instrument plunged into the rear of the developing skull to ensure the death of the fetus. Personally, I believe that abortion should be the decision of the parents, with the mother’s choice having more say than the father if they disagree since she’s the one who carries the developing child, but folks who decry cruelty to other animals and then deny that abortion is similar just don’t make sense to me.

Hey SX2! Hey Radish! We are not loserly boobs! How about that!

Now, aside from the fact that “loserly” is not, as far as I know, defined in the OED (I say “as far as I know” because I’m too cheap to subscribe (therefore making the statement technically correct)), I view this as quite an accomplishment. So much so that I’m thinking of having it inscribed on my tombstone:

”He hated vegetables, occasionally got caught flogging his rotifer, and shamed his family by attending law school, but every cartoonist* who ever expressed an opinion on the subject stated that he was NOT a loserly boob.”

    * (but just the backwoods trashy rednecky ones)

    ”P.S. Better here than Tulsa”

Hey Teresa…YOU are no looserly boob! MM in the blog?!! Far more than I expected - or probably deserved for that matter. I just wanted to support you in your fight against censorship… if you even call it a fight. You’re the winner hands down in my book, babe!

And those other “not-so-looserly-boobs”?… I have you to thank for them. They are faithful comics fans I basically hijacked from your awesome sight.

I am called to walk where your feet have walked. I place my steps gently within yours, testing for fit. I wear the garb of anymood, tailored for seasons that wear at knee and elbow, that tug at forelock and conscience, that are ready to be shucked before known but are worn on regardless. Nothing ceases. Life is too big to fail.
