I’ll never forget when we brought home our kitten Alexandra. She was the tiniest little kitten but brave as a lion. The first time I vacuumed after bringing her home, she ran out of the room, but the second I turned the machine off she pounced on it and started growling, scratching & biting it. After that, every single time we opened the closet where it was kept (coats were also kept there) Alex would attack it!
My kitties are thankful we no longer have carpet but laminate flooring so I don’t have to vacuum. But I do need to buy a hand held vac for vacuuming the chairs.
Remember the Phillips “square” light bulb commercial where a cat is lying on the carpet and a huge vacuum is approaching and then the light bulb blows out? The next thing you hear is Marrowwwwwwww!
This reminded me of an old joke: Two dogs in a dungeon with a lot of torture equipment including racks, chains, and, of course, several vacuum cleaners. The door begins to swing open, and one dog says to the other: “What more can they do to us?!!” And there in the doorway stands a man with a rolled-up newspaper.
