Rewrites? This is a strip that I think hits the mark every time. May be that is a case of good rewriting. Classic case of the writer making it “look easy” though it may sometimes be difficult.

I walked away from this strip months ago, as the revisionist “delusions of my childhood” theme had worn out its welcome, not unlike Lynda Barry’s annoying “Ernie Pook’s Commeek” of a few years ago. I recently decided to give it another shot, but it doesn’t look like much has changed. If the reader happens to like revisiting elementary school age fantasies, that’s their prerogative. Not my cup of tea, though. All the best, folks…..

Thanks for the heads-up Mark! So many go away and never say why. Enjoy the break!

Hey! Will you leave me hanging with with just half-a-strip featuring my favorite Boy and His Pet Squid in all of comics? Granted, it is Road Repair Season (the other one besides winter, a.k.a. Road Destruction Season). I hope these rewrites don’t take too long! I’ll be a year older pretty soon!

This isn’t going to turn into “see ya later,” as with Chuckle Bros. and (in another venue) Tina’s Groove, is it? Although from Ishy’s standpoint, “So long, and thanks for all the fish” does make a deal of sense.
