Pretty much, but remember when Ronald Reagan answered “I don’t remember” over 120 times at Iran/Contra hearings? At least he honestly had Alzheimer’s, not like the current crop.
I was involved in litigation one time – I was the manager for an employee who took the company to court for an alleged wrongful firing (in a right to work state) and discrimination charges.
.
Our corporate lawyer advised me, “Shut up and volunteer nothing.” and "If you don’t have it documented you claim that you can’t recall.’ Well, I did have almost everything documented so the cases (he had multiple agencies investigating us) got nowhere. In fact one of the agencies let us “mail” it in.
What you do is some kind of evidence to your question, then when they answer they don’t know you play it on a big screen in surround sound. Then ask them again.

I guess you have the memory issues too. It was Genral Ollie North who kept saying “I don’t recall……”. Comedians had a field day with it.

This may be boring if they refuse to answer. Instead of invoking the 5th Amendment. Until they can’t anymore and are held in contempt.

Love the empty bottles – maybe that’s why it’s so difficult to recall …

The term ‘vague’ doesn’t begin to describe what goes on in Foggy Bottom on the Potomac.

Do you swear to keep quiet while I pontificate, speecify and otherwise work on my reelection by pretending I care?

If you want to wake up the senators, just have Cap’n Eddie testify!

Seems like lots of empty bottles of liquid courage behind questioner. A few 4ths or 5ths.

What does it matter if I did all that? It’s over now, let’s just move on.

We need better than Senate hearings – we need more listening.
