“I remember my dad used to tell that lie to me all the time when I was six, before I started dying my hair.”
“When I was your age, I had to walk fifteen miles to school in the snow! Barefoot! Uphill! Both ways!”
“Barefoot? Don’t schools have dress codes against that?”
it will be hard to get ahold of medical personnel when there’s a crisis going on when you’re without the reception range
How are we gonna check the weather, or videos, or even this comic strip then?!
Honesty to yourself, honesty to your kids. Parenting 101.
I am, as always, in awe of the depth of character in this strip.
That was beautiful!
He obviously is the antithesis of Calvin’s Dad.
The best use of a cell phone on a camping trip is for checking the weather, and to identify the wildlife, and take pictures of said wildlife.
Wish my my parents were that honest
Once again, pop shows why i like him.
You should take your phone with you. Most places where you can go camping any more has some cell access.
Your cell phone then becomes a lifeline to emergency services.
Here in the PNW more than one mountain climber has been saved because he/she had a cell phone in his/her pack.
The more character you have, the poorer your parents were.
Wow. Really disappointed, Dad. That’s a terrible lesson to teach your child. Not even a good jest.
“Character is a filthy lie grownups tell, honey.”
Ya got that right!
She probably wouldn’t get any cell phone reception anyways… :P
