Andy you really surprise me talking about monkey’s I thought you be talking about something else like who wants to buy me beer, playing pool, throwing darts, buying more beer, pony’s. No wonder barkeep is bored.

Imagine, two grown men making monkeys of themselves like that.

Andy Capp, man of learning. Learns at the pub, learns drinking on the sofa watching TV, and learns running after robbing Flo’s bag. The truly educated man. Give that man a government grant.

Better a publican than a *Re*publican.

Runar: Do you mean the kind of Republican who taxes and spends indistinguishably from a Democrat or the kind of Republican who wants limited government, lower taxes, and strict adherence to the Constitution? More different than monkeys and apes.

(BTW, in G.B., a republican is one who advocates the abolition of the monarchy. I like Good Queen Liz II, but if I were Brit I would definitely be a small-r republican on the principle “that all men are created equal”.)
