Don’t you hate it when that happens?

If his head jammed the pinsetter, then I guess his mind is not in the gutter…

    BTW, really nice artwork guys!

Reminds me of a Tom and Jerry cartoon I’ve seen that is set in a bowling alley.

Nice job on the artwork, Scott. A lot of artists would never even try doing a panel from this angle; very few would be able to pull it off as well as you have here.

I’m not old enough myself, but my mother and oldest sister are old enough that they were, in the time before automatic pinsetters, pin girls — women who would sit above and behind the pins so they could set the pins back up after they’d been hit by the ball. They both got some nasty bruises from that job.

One night my bowling ball was fitting a bit snug at the thumb hole… at one point the ball stuck to my thumb and instead of rolling down the lane it launched high and to one side, it bounced out of our lane and headed for the next one over. It would have made it except there was a pillar in the way and it bounced off of that and back into our lane… ended up in the gutter and continued down to the end. I tried to tell everyone it ruined a perfectly good strike but no one bought that.

It was a short while before we could continue bowling… everyone was laughing too hard to bowl. You really had to see it to believe it, it was hilarious!
