I don’t do resolutions because I’m unlikely to stick to them.

One of the flaws in Calvin’s thinking is no one actually keeps any of their New Years Resolutions! I stopped making them decades ago!

I resolve to solve my daily Sudoku. Happy New Year everyone.

I resolve to be less resolute! How do I measure that?

The New Year is no different than all my last 82 years. But I do resolve to try to live each new day in kindness, & respect for all others, & for my own gift of life as it was, is, & may be tomorrow.

Ummm…an entitlement oriented child; must have Liberal / Progressive parents.

I resolve to never use the word “inconceivable” unless it’s in a joke…

Prayers for the people who suffer. May your lives become better.

Prayers for those in the military who go in harm’s way. May you return safely to loved ones and home.

Prayers for the law makers. May human considerations and common decency overcome your sense of entitlement.

Prayers for the earth. May the abusers come to realize there is only one of you and correct their ‘improvements for the good of profit’ and aim ‘for the good of mankind’ instead.

The only resolution I ever made was to study Hebrew in the New Year. Believe it or not I stuck by it. There is hope for all.

I think Calvin’s resolution should be to do something about his anger. ;)

I know this was first published decades ago, but it has so captured the nature of social media and the younger generation who seems to expect reality to morph to suit their perceptions. That said, Happy New Year and remember, this past year was no worse than any other and neither will be the coming year.

That moment when you blow up your New Year’s resolution before the year even begins.

I’m not the one that is Out of Step, it’s everyone else!

I agree with Calvin. I never make New Year’s Resolutions because I feel I don’t need to change.
